Tim joined the Kawamura Group through the NLD BBSRC DTP, having graduated from the University of York in 2021 with a BSc in Biochemistry. During this time he spent a year in industry at the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics using cyclic peptides to target glycosylation events in metastatic cancer. Tim’s PhD project looks at how proteins found in tick saliva can interrupt inflammatory responses and is working with collaborators across Newcastle, Durham, and Oxford Universities.
Outside the lab, Tim can be found playing board games, at an orchestra rehearsal or down a Wikipedia rabbit hole.
